Auto Electrician for Commercial Vehicles

Job brief

We are seeking to recruit an auto-electrician who will be responsible for maintenance and repair of varied electrical systems on commercial vehicles, namely Coaches, Trucks and other Heavy Vehicles, stock control of the electrical service section and ensuring the safe working environment of the auto electrical work area.

The selected candidate must have be professional on the job and have extensive knowledge on the vehicles that will be worked on. The candidate should have good communication skills and a good attitude with colleagues and clients alike.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose electrical malfunctions within automotive systems
• Strong attention to detail for any recurring problems within a system
• Analyse and solve complex problems that may arise
• Install various electrical systems on the vehicles (sound, lighting, dashboard controls etc.)
• Operate electronic diagnostic equipment and observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Communicate vehicle issues in layman’s terms

 

Requirements

• Proven experience as auto electrician
• Extensice knowledge of electrical and electronic components of commercial vehicles
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment needed on the job
• Excellent physical condition
• Basic spoken English
• Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
• Valid certification & licence is a definite plus
